Description

All great designs start with quality base files. This course will cover many advanced options for generating and importing site information from imagery to PDFs, DWGs, GIS data, and so much more. From the start, learn to utilize these methods in an effective manner to achieve a highly productive workflow for base file setup.

Next, you will explore design progression, from concept through schematic design. The progression of a design can sometimes be confusing. We will demystify the process while showing best practices for your workflow. We will start with a concept drawing while adding found data and mining any data necessary for context. From there, we will discuss using many of Vectorworks Landmark's advanced tools to move efficiently to the schematic phase, including renders, while covering rapid design alterations. We will show how to effectively leverage the advanced components of Vectorworks to make this painless and profitable for you and your firm.

From design development changes and data, we will then mine that information to create a final design set for presentation. This prepares the file for the construction documentation phase.

Note: While this class is designed for professionals in the Landscape industry, many of the concepts covered in this course will be applicable to Architects and drafters in other industries.

  • Manage imported DWG and PDF files through import settings, visibility controls, and other attribute preferences to improve file exchanges with project collaborators.

This class will teach you how to create productive, efficient, and profitable irrigation designs using Vectorworks Landmark.

Delve into the intricate functionalities and automated calculations embedded within Vectorworks Landmark, mastering them to achieve optimal outcomes for your designs. Through a blend of theory and hands-on practice, you'll glean invaluable insights and best practices essential for navigating this powerful software with finesse.

Next, you will explore a seamless workflow tailored for hydrozoning and calculations necessary for meeting MWELO (Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance) design standards and reporting requirements.

By the end of this course, you'll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to generate your irrigation designs rapidly, elevating your projects to unprecedented levels of excellence and sustainability.

  • Understand and utilize the entire suite of Irrigation tools available with Vectorworks Landmark.
  • Learn to generate standard quantity reports used for irrigation design.
  • Utilize irrigation tools to generate proposed water usage per zone.
  • Create efficient irrigation by analyzing reported data and modifying the design effectively.
  • Explore MWELO design and reporting functions.

Workshop participants must bring their laptop computer and the software installed. The software may either be your registered license or you may obtain and install a functional evaluation copy before arriving for the course. We will not issue refunds due to malfunctions of software installed on personal laptops. The course instructor is not available or responsible for troubleshooting or servicing personal laptops, nor is the trainer responsible for technical problems experienced during the course due to individual computer hardware or software malfunctions. Detailed information on downloading the software will be emailed and found in your registration confirmation.
