Description

This intensive, hands-on class provides a solid introduction to Vectorworks for Entertainment Rigging. The Braceworks™ add-on module for Vectorworks Spotlight and Designer allows design, production, and rigging professionals to gauge the performance of temporary suspended structures under load. Learn how to model and present a design and conduct structural analyses on suspended system loads. Attendees will also explore how to create a 3D data model and generate rigging plans, documentation, and design presentations.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand and utilize truss, pipes, and ladders in your rigging designs.

  • Efficiently connect various loads to the rigging structure.

  • Integrate and configure hoists within your rigging system.

  • Design and implement bridles for complex rigging configurations.

  • Utilize worksheets and data for rigging management and documentation.

  • Incorporate Braceworks to perform accurate load calculations and analysis.

 

Prerequisites

  • This is an intermediate-level class. Attendees must have a general understanding of Vectorworks' basic drafting concepts. Completing the Vectorworks Core Concepts class or the on-demand Vectorworks Core Associate Certification is highly recommended.
  • To fully participate in this class, attendees must have an active Braceworks license. Evaluation licenses of Vectorworks with Braceworks can be provided upon request. 

Additional Information

Workshop participants must bring their laptop and have Vectorworks 2026 installed. The software can be your registered license or a functional evaluation copy you obtain and install before the course. We will not issue refunds for software issues on personal laptops. The course instructor is not responsible for troubleshooting or repairing personal laptops, nor for any technical problems caused by hardware or software malfunctions during the course. Detailed instructions for downloading the software will be emailed and are also available in your registration confirmation. 

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Due to limited seating, class registration fees are non-refundable. However, upon request, your purchase can be used towards purchasing a future class. Classes may be subject to cancellation. Cancellations must be made at least five (5) business days prior to the class start date. Registrants will be notified by email, and a full refund will be issued in the event of a cancellation.
