This two-day Vectorworks training class is designed for new users from any industry. If you’re an existing user who is self-taught but feels there are gaps in your knowledge, this class is also a great fit for you. It is not compulsory to attend both days however for new users both days are highly recommended.

MONDAY 10 AUGUST: CORE CONCEPTS

Learn the foundational tools and techniques that will set you up for success using Vectorworks software. This hands-on course focuses on the essential concepts and methods that build confidence in the interface, drawing tools, and resource management.

  • Page Setup, Set Print Area, Units, Help and Quick Search
  • Object Info palette, Basic Navigation
  • Understanding Cartesian and Polar coordinates
  • Using the basic 2D tools, creating and editing objects, Floating Data Bar

  • Attributes and using the Resource Locator
  • Colours, hatches, gradients, image fills, line weights, markers
  • 2D Attribute Mapping tool, Offset, Fillet, Select Similar tools, Eyedropper
  • The Reshape tool, Rotate Plan, Send and Move commands
  • Compose, Add and Clip Surface command, The X-Ray key
  • Coincident Objects Selection, Add, Clip and Intersect Surface command
  • Duplication, Cut, Copy, Paste and Paste in Place
  • Mirror, Duplicate Array, Duplicate Along Path
  • Understanding and Editing Groups
  • Resource Manager — Importing and creating resources
  • Dimensioning — Creating your own dimension standard

TUESDAY 11 AUGUST: INTERMEDIATE CONCEPTS

Build on your foundational skills and deepen your understanding of Vectorworks’ organisational structure, hybrid objects, and presentation tools. This day is ideal for users ready to expand their workflow into sheet-layer-based output. By the end of Day 2, you’ll be able to efficiently manage and present projects ready for real-world production.

Additional Information

All sessions are held in a fully equipped computer lab with Windows desktop computers and monitors.

Refund and Cancellation policy

Due to limited seating, class registration fees are non-refundable. However, upon request, your purchase can be used towards purchasing a future class. Classes may be subject to cancellation. Cancellations are determined by five (5) business days before the class starts. Registrants will be notified by email, and a full refund will be issued in the event of a cancellation.
